I hear people say all of the time- "Where does the time go?" I always just thought it was an overused expression, but recently I have had an epiphany of what that saying is all about. My baby is almost 11 weeks old! Caleb is such a good baby- most of the time anyways :) I just can't believe how big he is getting...he babbles to me all day long and holds his head up with ease. He HATES being on his tummy, so he has a lovely bald spot on the back of his head where he has rubbed all of his hair off. He loves getting his diaper changed- I actually look forward to changing his diaper because he gets so excited and happy!
I have tried to keep him on a good schedule, and he actually slept through the night 3 nights in a row this week, but then woke up every hour last night to prove to his mom who is actually the boss in the house :)
Josh blessed Caleb on September 26th, and it was such a great day. This is the outfit Josh was blessed in and it fit him perfectly

These pictures were taken when Caleb was about 2 1/2 weeks old! He is now almost 6 weeks...I can't believe how fast time is going...why did pregnancy take so long when time is flying now that he's here?! Enjoy our sweet little boy :)

Birthday Boy

Happy 26th birthday to my amazing husband Josh! He is the best dad to Caleb and the perfect husband for me. It is so awesome to be married to your best friend, and I am grateful every single day this incredible man chose me :) Happy birthday love!

Side Note: Yes I am still in my pajamas in this picture and it is like 8 o'clock at night...I am a new mom, so cut me some slack :)

2 weeks!

Our little (well actually big) boy is already over two weeks old! I seriously cannot believe that he has been with us that long, but at the same time I can't really remember life without him :) I am completely consumed by this little creature and my whole days consist of feeding, changing, burping and watching him. Everyone has told me to "sleep when he sleeps", but I enjoy watching him make cute smiles and faces while he sleeps so I can't take naps very easily! What a miracle he is and we love him :)
We took him to our pediatrician for his two week appointment and here are the stats:
Weight: 10 lbs. 4 oz.= 97th percentile
Length: 22.4 inches= 97th percentile
Head circumference: 15 inches = 90th percentile
So pretty much he is HUGE and I love it! We affectionately call him "lub lub" and it fits because he is such a chunk :)

Caleb Joshua Ostler

Well our little man has officially arrived! My water broke at about 6:30 AM on Tuesday, so we hurried and packed our bags and headed to the hospital. The nurse started me on Pitocin and we were off and running! (Those of you who would like a more detailed account of the whole experience I would love to share, but I won't get into the nitty gritty here) I got to 10 cm and started to push and thats where it got interesting. My doctor had told me I had a small pelvic outlet and told me it would be difficult for me to deliver over an 8 pound baby...and boy was he right! I pushed for 2 hours before our little boy came into the world weighing in at 9 pounds 7 ounces! He is such a chunk, and although biased because he is my offspring, is probably one of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life! Josh and I just stare at him all day and just laugh at how cute he is when he cries. I am sure that will wear off soon, but we just can't get enough of our boy!

It's The Final Countdown!

Well folks...we are counting down the days! I am 37 weeks and 5 days along as of today, so I guess our little one could come any day. I highly doubt that he is coming before his due date, but I would love it if he would! At my last doctor's appointment I was dilated to a 1 and was 50% effaced. I definitely have a long way to go, but at least I am making SOME progress. We had a shower last Saturday and have another one this Saturday, so it is way fun getting all ready for our babe to arrive!

Josh painted the whole baby room by himself! I sat there and "supervised" but he stayed up late and got everything thing done perfectly. I really love how it looks and I even got in my Layton High colors :)

This is NOT a flattering picture of me, but here I am about ready to pop! The camera adds 10 pounds right? Just humor me ok...
